Faith & Freedom on The Eagle 104.3 FM,
Central
Florida,
Commercial Talk Radio
We are experiencing what we had envisioned
for this ministry. Our radio show reaches many hundreds of square
miles during rush-hour. It gives us amazing opportunities to
introduce thousands of people to a Biblical
perspective. Listeners have given feedback to the
station owner about our broadcast. People who don't agree with us
are continuing to listen because our show is captivating. We are
even reaching across the normal demographics of talk radio. Women
and other adults under the age of 35 that don't normally listen to talk
radio are listening to our Faith & Freedom show.
When we have two hours
per day, five days per week, we can weave scriptural principles into
the conversation fluidly. It also gives us opportunities to
interview a greater number of guests. This week, I did a remote
live interview with David Walters, U.S. Army Col. Ret., Professor of
Business at Montreat College in the mountains of North Carolina.
I was a great tag-team event with us weaving the principles of man's
fallen nature and the redemption available in Christ right into the
discussions of business and government and our responses to callers.

Remote
Broadcast Equipment Provides Versatility
In 1996, we purchased over $7,000.00 worth of equipment for just a
little over
$5,000.00 with some designated donations, to get us started in radio in
January of 2007. We purchased the majority of the
equipment at wholesale price. The relatively unknown equipment
brand happens to be better quality than the most popular brand.
To get the same capabilities in the other brand, we would have to
spend at least $4,000.00 more. The equipment enables us to send
studio-quality audio from a remote location to the studio by way of
plain old telephone lines or by internet access. When we transmit
by internet, it leaves a line open for us to take calls from listeners
in the middle of a phone interview.
During May and June, we worked through
technical challenges. Since then, we have integrated
computer-driven audio clips into our broadcast in the middle of our
interviews while we are taking callers at the same time. It might
not sound too technically challenging to you, but you just try managing
all those things at once, while making sound level adjustments, while
conducting the broadcast interview.
We Take The Issues of The
Day Head-On
"The times they are a changin." There are many
radical changes happening in the form of our
governmental/socio/economic system. It is a great tragedy that is
happening before our eyes. It does however provide great
opportunities for us to expose our cosmopolitan audience to a biblical
perspectives. Listen to the shows that I have recently
pre-recorded for days where I am not available to provide a live
broadcast. www.faithfreedoms.org/audio
Needs - Our phone
costs have increase a couple hundred dollars per month.
- We still have two children to get through their fourth
year of college to equip them for Christian ministry and their station
in life. Bethany &
Jesse both got all "A"s this last semester of their Junior year.
Bethany obtained another $3,000 scholarship.
- A five day per week show, 1,000 miles from
the broacast area does not lend itself to helping us find sponsors for
air-time. Thus, we need the Lord to miraculously provide our
need... as usual.
