Protecting The Duty To Serve Christ

There are times when an employer or contractor want to hire you for your services but they’ve gone and hired an accountant who is gifted at crossing every T and dotting every I - even if it is not always necessary.

Do you want every accountant to conform to your norm, or do you want to get paid without throwing your employer/payer under the bus?

Yes, it is a tragedy that even churches are terrified of hiring the unnumbered.

If it is at all possible, as far as it goes with you, live at peace with all men.  If they are afraid of the IRS, let them access the IRS Pub. 1281 related to payments to unnumbered people.

We need to eventually get our status recognized just like the Amish and other old societies who are recognized as excepted from the ‘system’s’ requirements.

In the meantime, cut your payers some slack, get paid, and engage the problem openly and lovingly through political, legal, or lawful redress.

IRS Pub that shows procedure for tax-obligated payers to hire and pay the unnumbered.
